Sydney commuters face delays with Metro

Train commuters in Sydney's southwest can expect delays and closures on the Blacktown Line from next year due to major station upgrades and track work ahead of the city's Metro project.

Work on 11 stations between Sydenham and Bankstown will start in 2018 upgrading new entrances, building disability access, fixing platforms and adding glass dividers to protect commuters from tracks.

Track work to bring the 122-year-old Blacktown Line up to Sydney Metro standards will see it closed for three to six months from 2023, said NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance on Wednesday.
