Surry Hills 18-year-old escapee back in custody

An 18-year-old Sydney woman who escaped from custody has been caught hit with fresh charges.

Police had been searching for the woman, Amy Sharp, after she escaped from the Surry Hills Corrective Services Cell Complex on August 19.

Ms Sharp was found in nearby Wentworth Park around 12.20am last night.

She has been charged with escaping lawful custody as well has an outstanding warrant.

She was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court today.
