Shop fire causing traffic delays in Sydney

Firefighters have used a ladder to rescue a person living above a shop that caught on fire in Sydney's inner west.

Emergency crews have extinguished the blaze that broke out at an Enmore restaurant just after 7am on Friday and rescued an upstairs resident, who is being treated by paramedics for minor injuries, a NSW Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said.

The blaze has caused peak-hour traffic delays with city-bound lanes on Enmore Road closed, however a contra flow is in place for motorists in both directions.
