Self-proclaimed sheik Junaid Thorne is set to be sentenced in Sydney for using a fake name to board a domestic flight.

The 26-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on Monday after pleading guilty to three charges stemming from a flight booked last year between Perth and Sydney via Brisbane.

Thorne, who has controversially supported the French Charlie Hebdo terror attack and slain terror suspect Numan Haider, wanted a "new start" in Sydney and was remorseful, his lawyer told a Sydney court last week.

He will be sentenced in Central Local Court.
