Seventh arrest following Cronulla brawl

A seventh person has been arrested after a massive brawl involving up to 20 youths erupted in Sydney's south.

The fight, which police say involved alcohol-affected youths, broke out near a shopping mall in Cronulla on Wednesday night.

When police intervened, a 14-year-old girl allegedly assaulted a detective, who was knocked unconscious and suffered facial injuries.

On Friday police charged a 18-year-old man with assault police, hinder police and affray.

He was granted bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court on February 5.

He is the seventh person to be arrested over the brawl.
