Charges after guard hit at Sydney bar
Charges have been laid over the assault of a security guard and a bystander allegedly by two men who were refused entry to a Sydney bar.
Two men aged 20 and 22 allegedly became involved in an altercation with the guard as they were leaving the Potts Point bar early on Sunday morning, resulting in one of the men punching the guard in the face.
"Security pursued the pair to a neighbouring street where one of the males allegedly damaged a parked vehicle and a bystander was also assaulted," police said.
The bystander was taken to the Sydney Eye Hospital while the security guard suffered only minor injuries.
A 22-year-old man was charged with failing to quit a licensed premises, common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and malicious damage.
A 20-year-old man has been charged with failing to quit a licensed premises, common assault and malicious damage.
Both are expected to face court in February.
