School in Sydney's west evacuated

Police have given an Islamic college in Sydney's west the all clear after a "plastic toy" sparked a security scare this afternoon.

The Salamah College in Chester Hill was evacuated about 2pm after the item was reported.

Police also evacuated several surrounding homes as a precaution, a NSW Police Force spokesman said.

Investigators determined the object was not suspicious later in the afternoon.
