Salesmen charged over fake client sign-ups

A group of Sydney salesmen at an energy company are facing fraud charges for allegedly falsifying customer records.

Over one month in 2015, the four employees, aged between 25 and 30, added 286 fictitious customer names to the company books to rack up pay bonuses for themselves.

The men were arrested on Wednesday morning at their homes in western Sydney and will face Newtown Local Court later this month for obtaining financial advantage by deception.
