Rogerson, McNamara await NSW verdict

Jurors in the case against former NSW police officers Roger Rogerson and Glen McNamara, who are accused of killing Sydney student and alleged drug dealer Jamie Gao, have retired to consider their verdict.

The two men have pleaded not guilty to the shooting murder of Mr Gao in a Padstow storage unit on May 20, 2014.

Over the course of a four-month trial, the prosecution alleged the duo spent months conspiring to rip Mr Gao off by stealing from him 2.78kg of the drug ice, then dumping his body in the ocean near Cronulla.

Justice Geoffrey Bellew sent the jury out at 12.35pm on Thursday, telling them he was asking them to reach unanimous verdicts in respects of all counts on the indictment.
