Review of Sydney's Auburn Council
WHAT SYDNEY'S AUBURN COUNCIL INQUIRY WILL EXAMINE:
* The council response to the closing of Frances Street for former deputy mayor Salim Mehajer's wedding.
* The council response to two fires at an Auburn property linked to the Mehajer family.
* The relationships between councillors and staff and the extent to which staff may have been ordered to work in a way that breached the code of conduct, including a gift valued at $2000 to council planning manager Glen Francis
* Serious deficiencies in building certifications that continue to affect residents at properties developed by Councillor Ronny Oueik at Station Road in Auburn and Water Street in Lidcombe.
* The removal and disappearance of an important document relating to a report to ICAC over the building of unauthorised bedrooms at the Station Road units in Auburn.
* Council decisions relating to planning proposals which may have benefited Mr Mehajer, Mr Oueik and Councillor Hicham Zraika.
