A rapid response rescue helicopter has landed in a park in Sydney's inner west after a man was hit by a car and seriously injured.

The 60-year-old man was struck by a car while crossing the road in Drummoyne on Saturday morning, according to Care Flight.

The rescue helicopter landed in a nearby park with its crew rendering medical assistance to the man, who was then taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition by ambulance.
