Renewed appeal for missing NSW toddler

It's been eight weeks since William Tyrell vanished from his grandmother's home on the NSW mid-north coast.

Despite sweeping searches of neighbours' houses and bushland around the town of Kendall, there has been no trace of the three-year-old who was wearing his Spider-Man suit when he went missing.

After sifting through hundreds of pieces of information that have come through Crime Stoppers, the police officer leading the investigation admits they have no solid lead.

But Superintendent Paul Fehon remains hopeful that someone who knows something and has a conscience will come forward.

"Without locating him in the bush, we are still hopeful of being able to locate young William," he told AAP.

Investigators have searched every corner of the 21 houses in the estate where William disappeared while playing in his grandmother's backyard on September 12.

Supt Fehon says if the little boy had some form of misadventure in nearby bushland, police would have found something by now.

"We are complete open to any possibility, including human intervention," he said.

"If that has occurred, somebody knows something."
