Properties searched over McBride death

Two NSW Hunter region properties have been forensically examined by police investigating the suspicious death of Carly McBride, whose remains were found just over a month ago.

The Belmont mother of two was 31 when she was reported missing in September 2014.

She had been in Muswellbrook to visit her daughter at her ex-partner's home when she vanished.

It wasn't until two years later her remains were discovered at a property near Scone following a tip-off to police.

Police say they searched items at a home at Muswellbrook and a farm at Scone on Tuesday.

After her remains were found, Ms McBride's parents appeared before the press in Newcastle to thank police for allowing them to put their daughter to rest.

They also made an emotional plea for anyone who had any information about her death to come forward.

"We really need as much help that we can get," Steve McBride said.

"We still need to know who has done this to our baby," Lorraine Williams said.
