Prisoner on run from NSW jail

A prisoner, who escaped from a jail in the NSW Central West just one day after it re-opened, remains on the run.

Kyle Ashley-Dale Baker, 23, managed to escape from the newly recommissioned Kirkconnell Minimum Security Correctional Centre some time between Friday night and Saturday morning, police say.

The Kirkconnell Correctional Centre located between Bathurst and Lithgow, officially re-opened on Thursday after being mothballed in 2011.

Baker, who was serving a sentence for aggravated break and enter, is not considered to be a risk to the community.

He's described as 170-180cm tall with a thin build, has a fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes - and may have a scruffy beard, police said.
