Duke of York in Sydney for royal visit

The Duke of York has spent the day in Sydney ahead of the national finals of his program to help budding entrepreneurs get a foot in the door.

Prince Andrew on Wednesday spoke at an Outward Bound meeting which aims to help people become better leaders, before visiting the St Vincent's Curran Foundation where he took in a unique view of the Sydney skyline from the hospital's roof.

The prince is scheduled to visit a ship in the Royal Australian Navy on Thursday before hosting the grand final of Pitch@Palace at Government House in Sydney later that night.

The program helps young entrepreneurs kick-start their dreams by connecting them with powerful mentors and business partners and has given 400 tech starts the leg up they needed to succeed since 2014.
