Power back to Newcastle homes
AAP
Houses around Newcastle which lost power during last week's violent NSW storms will be reconnected on Wednesday.
Most other parts of the Hunter region will have power back by Thursday, Ausgrid says.
About 5500 Ausgrid customers in the Hunter and about 2000 on the Central Coast are without electricity.

Ausgrid said power has been switched back on to more than 210,000 customers since the east coast low caused widespread damage to the electricity network.
Four people were killed during the storms.
