Possible bikie link to tattoo shop fire

A feud between rival bikie gangs was probably the reason a tattoo parlour in western Sydney was shot at, rammed with a car and set ablaze by a Molotov cocktail.

The Rooty Hill business remains closed after last June's attack, which followed an alleged brawl between Rebels and Finks members at a pub at Windsor in May.

The tattoo parlour was previously owned by the Rebels, and the gang squad's Detective Chief Inspector Sam Courcoulos said police believe it was mistakenly targeted about a year after it was sold.

"It (the attacks) coincided with conflict that the Rebels were having with another rival gang by the name of the Finks," he said on Thursday afternoon.

The front shutter of the shop has been peppered with bullet holes, but it's unclear when it was shot at.

The incident is being investigated as a possible act of revenge.

Police on Thursday released CCTV footage showing three men attacking the parlour in two separate incidents.

Two men threw a Molotov cocktail at the shop and two days later the car, which was well alight before emergency crews arrived, was found parked out front.

Police wouldn't say if the men were believed to be members of a bikie gang and asked for anyone with information to contact them.

No one was in the vehicle or the building during the blaze.

The new owner of the parlour "appears to be an honest man," Mr Courcoulos said.
