Police officer charged with shoplifting

A police officer is due to face court after he was allegedly caught stealing from a Sydney department store.
Police say the senior constable, who is attached to a special command, visited a Sydney CBD department store on June 22 while off duty and allegedly left without paying for some clothing.
He was given a notice to attend the Downing Centre Local Court on August 8 for the offence of larceny.
