Pair stay in custody over attempted murder

Two more people charged with the attempted murder of a man in a national park in Sydney's southwest will remain in custody after a brief court appearance.

Fady Houda, 48, and Monique Hayes, 23, were arrested on Monday afternoon after fronting Miranda Police Station.

It came after 48-year-old Sharon Yarnton appeared at Bankstown Local Court earlier that day charged with the attempted murder of a 45-year-old man.

Police allege the trio attempted to kill a 45-year-old man who says he awoke in the early hours of Sunday morning to find himself in the passenger seat of a car parked at the Georges River National Park in Sydney's southwest.

He said he remembered falling asleep at a Merrylands address, in Sydney's west.

When police arrived at the scene to investigate the domestic dispute they allegedly found fuel in and around a car.

Yarnton was arrested nearby.

No one was injured.

Her alleged co-offenders Houda and Hayes did not apply for bail when they appeared at Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday and it was formally refused.

The trio will return to court on March 18.
