Pair charged over Sydney break-in

A man and a woman have been charged with breaking into a home in Sydney's west and stealing a necklace from a sleeping resident, who was wearing it at the time.

The resident woke up and locked the door, but robber kicked it down and make off with the jewellery and electrical goods.

Police say they've charged a 30-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, who was allegedly waiting outside the Liverpool house when the robbery took place about 10am on Wednesday.

The pair are also alleged to have stolen a knife later that day from a store in Liverpool Shopping Centre and tried to pawn it nearby.

They were arrested at Liverpool train station and will face Liverpool court on Thursday.
