Pair charged over NSW baseball bat attack

A man's ex-girlfriend and brother have been charged with breaking into his Albury home while he slept and assaulting him with a baseball bat.

Police say a 26-year-old man was woken at his home in Lavington early on Sunday by a man in a balaclava hitting him with the bat.

The pair struggled and it's alleged the armed man smashed a window before leaving in a car driven by a woman.

The injured man was taken to Albury Base Hospital with a head wound that required stitches.

Police have charged a man and woman, both aged 25, with breaking and entering to commit a serious indictable offence and they are due to face Albury Local Court on Monday.
