Pair charged after teens abducted in NSW

A man and woman have been charged following the alleged abduction of two 14-year-old girls near Canberra.

The teenagers, who knew the 35-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, were allegedly forced into the back seat of a car in the Queanbeyan suburb of Karabar at midday on Wednesday and threatened while being driven around the town, police said.

After dropping the girls back at the spot where they were taken, the man and woman were arrested and refused bail to appear in Queanbeyan Local Court on Thursday charged with taking or detaining a person in company with the intent to obtain advantage.
