One dead, one injured in separate crashes

A man has died following a motorcycle crash on the Oxley Highway in northern NSW just hours after a separate incident on the same stretch of highway.

Police and emergency services were called to Mt Seaview, 80km west of Port Macquarie, following reports of a crash around 2pm on Saturday but the 51-year-old rider died at the scene.

Officers would like to speak to the driver of a small white vehicle who may have witnessed the accident.

Two hours earlier police had been called to the same area after a separate motorcycle crash. A 35-year-old man suffered serious leg injuries and was airlifted to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital.
