A young woman charged with the attempted murder of a prison guard has allegedly made partial admissions about a down payment for the killing.

Corrective services officer Dean Yarnton awoke in the early hours of February 1 in the passenger seat of a car parked at the Georges River National Park in Sydney's southwest.

He was unaware of how he got there and fuel was allegedly discovered in and around the vehicle.

His wife Sharon Yarnton, also a prison officer, was arrested nearby.

Not long after, her alleged accomplices - 23-year-old Monique Hayes and 22-year-old Fady Houda - were arrested and charged.

At Hayes's bail application on Thursday, the Supreme Court heard that since being in custody, she had allegedly made partial admissions.

This included an alleged confession that they knew Yarnton "wanted her husband dead and was looking for somebody to do it", Justice Stephen Campbell said.

Hayes, the crown said, also told a senior prison officer that Yarnton had offered a down payment.

Hayes, however, claimed this was "hush money", Justice Campbell said.

The court heard that a burnt-out car said to be involved in the alleged murder attempt had also been discovered.

In granting Hayes conditional bail, Justice Campbell said he would not describe the crown case against Hayes as weak, nor would he call it "overwhelming".

He was also not persuaded that there was any risk to Mr Yarnton if Hayes were to be released.

Hayes, who cried throughout the proceedings, was supported in court by her parents, with her father posting his life savings of $20,000 for security.

She is required to live with her mother, report daily to police and have no contact with Yarnton and Houda.

She is due to return to Burwood Local Court on June 17.
