NSW teen arrested over bashing, robbery

A teenager has been arrested after the alleged bashing and robbery of a man and his 14-year-old daughter south of Newcastle.

The girl and her 41-year-old father were leaving a shopping centre in Charlestown on Sunday afternoon when there was an altercation and he was assaulted by several people.

The girl was also assaulted when she went to help. The father was robbed of his car keys, mobile phone and wallet.

A 15-year-old boy was later arrested and police say he will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
