NSW strike force raids uncover guns, drugs

A man is behind bars after police uncovered $2 million worth of illegal drugs and 11 guns in raids in Sydney's south.

The contraband was seized as part of raids by Strike Force Raptor on Friday, with officers swooping on two homes in Rockdale and two industrial premises in Botany at about 4pm, police say.

During their search police found 7.7 kilograms of cocaine, seven guns - including an assault rifle and a semi automatic pistol - hidden inside a false air conditioning unit above a penthouse apartment in Market Street at Rockdale.

A search of a basement in Botany further revealed four more guns, ammunition, bullet proof vests, another kilogram of cocaine and one kilogram of methylamphetamine.

The 27-year-old man was arrested by police on Market Street about 6pm. He's facing a string of 23 charges including supplying prohibited drugs and possessing prohibited guns.

He was refused bail and is due to face Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
