NSW stepdad faces jail for girl's abuse

A Sydney man who drugged and sexually abused his stepdaughter will be sentenced in a NSW court in September after apologising to jurors who had to sit through his trial.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to almost 100 charges relating to the abuse, which happened from the time the girl was 12.

His NSW District Court trial heard he would mix travel sickness tablets into his wife's food and drink so she would fall asleep and he could have sex with his stepdaughter, but he insisted he was in a consensual relationship with the girl.

He apologised to jurors who had to watch videos from SD cards found in his jacket lining that showed the abuse.

Judge Paul Conlon on Tuesday adjourned the case for a sentence hearing on September 8.
