NSW policeman charged with raping girl

A police officer has been charged with raping and indecently assaulting a nine-year-old girl on the NSW Central Coast.
The offences allegedly occurred in 2009 with an investigation launched last year after a report was made to police.
The 48-year-old senior constable was arrested at Newcastle Police Station on Thursday and charged with one count of sexual intercourse with a person under 10 and two counts of aggravated indecent assault.

He was bailed to appear at Newcastle Local Court on February 23.
