NSW pedestrian dies after being hit by car

A man has died after being struck by a car in the NSW Illawarra region.

Police said they found the body of a man believed to be in his 50s after being called to the Princes Highway at Figtree about 9.30pm AEDT on Thursday.

The male driver of the vehicle was not hurt and was taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing.

Investigators are asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
