A Sydney police officer has been charged with making a false accusation over an incident last year.
The 45-year-old male sergeant, attached to a central Sydney command, provided a witness statement to police about an incident that occurred last year while he was off duty.
The officer, who is on leave with pay, was given a court attendance notice and is due to face the Downing Centre Court in May.
