NSW murder suspect may face more charges

Police expect to lay further charges over the death of a third person at a rural NSW property against the man accused of murdering two others.

Allan Geoffrey O'Connor, 61, faced Dubbo Local Court on Monday, days after the bodies of a 36-year-old local woman and a 28-year-old man, named in media as Jacob Cumberland, were discovered with gunshot wounds at Hermidale.

It's believed O'Connor will also be charged over the death of Mr Cumberland's 59-year-old father Stephen, who was found dead inside a burnt caravan on the farm, once autopsy results are returned.

Police have refused to comment on a motive but did say O'Connor and the woman "were previously involved in a domestic relationship".

O'Connor didn't apply for bail during his court appearance and will remain in custody until his case is next heard at Bourke Local Court on August 20.
