NSW minister denies wrongdoing

NSW minister for disability and ageing, John Ajaka, has denied any wrongdoing after accusations he failed to declare a first-class upgrade on an overseas trip.

Labor's Michael Daley has called on the premier to sack Mr Ajaka after he reportedly spent $26,000 of taxpayers' money on a week-long trip to India and Dubai last October.

Mr Ajaka failed to declare he received an upgrade to first-class from Emirates airlines during the trip, which included a seat at the Australia-Pakistan cricket Test match in Dubai, Network Seven reported on Wednesday.

Mr Daley accused the minister of being carefree with taxpayers' money, saying he flouted the rules stating that gifts of more than $250 need to be declared.

"The minister has had three months to declare the upgrade and he only did so yesterday afternoon after he was caught out by a television network," Mr Daley told ABC radio on Thursday.

But Mr Ajaka says he has done nothing wrong.

"The minister has acted in accordance with the rules governing disclosures," a spokeswoman told AAP on Thursday.
