NSW man tries to run over officer with car

A man has been arrested in dramatic scenes after he attempted to run down a police officer in the central west of NSW.

It's alleged the man got into a vehicle and threatened a male sergeant outside the Orange Police Station on Saturday evening before deliberately trying to run the officer down a number of times. Other officers chased the vehicle and intercepted it before using a Taser to subdue the man. Several police vehicles were damaged in the process.

The 58-year-old was charged with a number of offences including assaulting police and was refused bail to appear at Orange Bail Court on Sunday.
