NSW man charged with assaulting police and armed robbery

A man wanted for robbery and assaulting police has been arrested in western Sydney last night.

Police say officers from Flemington and Blacktown executed a search warrant at a house in Gorse Place in Prospect at about 8.15pm and arrested the 21-year-old.

It is alleged the man assaulted two officers during a brawl last Saturday, and that he committed armed robbery in Ballina on April 1 of this year.

Police said the man was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with assault police causing actual bodily harm, armed robbery and two outstanding arrest warrants.

The man was refused bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court later today.

Police said they are continuing their inquiries.
