NSW man charged over tyre-slashing spree

A man will face court after he allegedly went on a tyre-slashing spree in the centre of Inverell, in NSW's New England region.
Police were first alerted to a man who was acting suspiciously, and allegedly carrying a backpack that contained scissors, in Inverell on Friday morning.
In total, the tyres on 42 vehicles were slashed in the town, police say.

After reviewing CCTV footage, a 34-year-old man was arrested and charged on Sunday. He will face court in Inverell on Monday on 42 counts of malicious damage.
