A man whose alleged threats to kill police and court staff caused stations and courts to be closed has been charged.

The man had allegedly made threats to kill relating to the local courts and police station in Hornsby and Mt Druitt between late February and Tuesday.

"Court proceedings were suspended each time and NSW police force specialist units were deployed," police said.

The man was arrested at a Rydalmere home on Friday, charged with five counts of using a carriage service to threaten to kill, and granted police bail ahead of an appearance at Parramatta Local Court scheduled for May 12.
