NSW man attacked with baton outside home

A man has been bashed with a baton outside his home near Lake Macquarie on the NSW Central Coast.

The 49-year-old has neck, face and arm injuries after being confronted by the group when he stepped outside late on Tuesday night, police say.

The group, which drove off, remains on the run.
