WHAT THEY SAID

TODAY'S PROMISES

Govt

- Mr Baird vowed to halve the threshold required to charge ice dealers, and more than triple the number of roadside drug tests by 2016/17.

- Nationals leader Troy Grant promised to renew the state's ageing XPT fleet.

- $75 million for a Regional Industries and Investment Fund to create country jobs.

Labor

- Mr Foley promised to boost the NSW Police Force by 480 new officers within first term of government - 180 by August 2015, then 100 new officers each year thereafter. It will cost nearly $75 million.

- $100 million to go to a Police Technology Fund to pay for more body-worn video cameras for frontline officers, mobile fingerprint scanners and narcotics testing machines, smart phones and tablets.

- Reinstate a ban on the "ecologically destructive and dangerous" practice of cable logging in NSW.

Greens

- $4.5 billion plan to boost social housing with 20,000 new homes.

- Create criminal offences covering bribery, misconduct and corruption by public officials, with 15-year maximum sentences where offences involve members of parliament or senior bureaucrats.

- For-profit organisations would be barred from making political donations, and any contributions from individuals would be disclosed immediately.
