The wife of the late Islamic State fighter, Mohamed Elomar, will be sentenced next year after she admitted supporting his involvement in armed hostilities in Syria.

Fatima Elomar, 30, pleaded guilty at Sydney's District Court on Monday to one count of supporting foreign hostile acts between April 3 and May 3 last year.

She was arrested at Sydney Airport in 2014 when she tried to board a flight out of the country.

She is due to face sentencing proceedings in April.

It's believed her jihadist husband was killed in a drone strike on the Islamic State's self-declared capital of Raqqa in June.
