NSW inspector charged with sexual assault

A NSW Police inspector has been charged over an alleged sexual assault in Sydney's inner west.
The charge follows an incident at a private residence in the inner west on September 24 while the male officer was off-duty.
The inspector, who's attached to a specialist police command, was charged on Thursday and a provisional apprehended violence order was served.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on January 24.
The inspector is not on operational duties and his employment status is under review, NSW Police said in a statement on Friday.
