NSW house destroyed in suspicious fire

A house near Wollongong has been destroyed by a fire which is believed to have been suspiciously lit.

The Koonawarra home was well alight when firefighters arrived on Sunday morning and it was unable to be extinguished before it was completely destroyed, police say.

No one was home at the time and police are treating the fire as suspicious.
