NSW cop faces misconduct charges

A police officer from Sydney's Central Metropolitan Region has been charged over alleged misconduct in office.

The 28-year-old constable allegedly accessed restricted data on a police computer and used communication equipment to commit serious indictable offences, police said.

He was arrested at a Menai home in the city's south on Wednesday.

He was charged with misconduct in public office, stalking and harassment, possessing ammunition without licence and using communication equipment to commit a serious indictable offence and is due to face Sutherland Local Court on Thursday.
