NSW cop charged over 2006 'misconduct'

A suspended NSW police officer who allegedly passed sensitive information to another person will appear in court over several misconduct offences.

The 45-year-old senior constable is accused of hindering the investigation of a serious indictable offence, intending to pervert the course of justice and public office misconduct over the 2006 incident.

Police on Wednesday said she was currently suspended with pay and would appear in Newcastle Local Court at the beginning of June.
