NSW cop 'assaulted' family member

A NSW police officer has been charged with common assault.
The 55-year-old senior constable, who works in traffic and highway patrol, is accused of assaulting a family member while off-duty at Kiama, south of Sydney, on June 18.
He is expected to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on August 9.
