Two young boys have been treated in hospital after they were hit by a car on Sydney's north shore.

Police say officers were called to Longueville on Friday night on reports the boys, aged four and six, had been struck by a car.

The boys were taken to North Shore Hospital, where the younger boy was treated for a fractured leg.

The 25-year-old male driver of the car returned a negative result on a roadside breath test, police said.
