NSW assault leaves man fighting for life

Police are on the hunt for a man after another, 30-year-old man was left fighting for life in Sydney's east.

Police were called to Endeavour Road in Daceyville about 10.40 pm on Friday following reports a man had been assaulted.

When they arrived at the scene police found the 30-year-old man lying on a footpath with head injuries. He was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital and remains in a critical condition.

Detectives are now searching for a tall, athletic man, wearing a grey tracksuit who they believe may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
