NSW ambulance stations need round-the-clock security guards due to broken doors
They were billed as the latest and greatest in ambulance hubs, but the super stations have been hit by a super stuff-up.
The fancy bi-fold doors on the ambulance stations have been decommissioned, forced open since August 1, after one apparently came down without warning.
As a result, security guards have been hired to man the buildings 24/7, in what the Treasurer even admits is a waste of money.

"I think it's important that these doors are fixed so we don't have to pay for security guards," Treasurer Dominic Perrottet told 9News.
Australian Paramedics Association delegate Gerry Pyke said at the Bankstown superstation, the door suddenly came down.
"The door just suddenly collapsed and crashed," he said.
"Paramedics should be concerned about patient safety, not about their own safety."

Health Infrastructure said there had been no disruption to ambulance services and a wider review is under way to ensure the safety of the doors.
"We are working with NSW Ambulance and suppliers to rectify an issue with some mechanical components of doors at some superstations," a spokesman for NSW Health Infrastructure said.
"As a precaution, we decommissioned the doors on August 1 to undertake rectification as quickly and safely as possible."

A Safework inspection report obtained by 9News reveals Austral-Monsoon, the manufacturers of the doors will replace the cables and pullies. Once repaired, the company will be required to inspect the doors weekly to ensure they remain safe.
Repairs are expected to be completed by the end of the month.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard's office did not respond to 9News' request for an interview.
