Murder charge after NSW break and enter

A NSW man is expected to face court charged with the murder of a man who was believed to be breaking into his home.
The 34-year-old man died after allegedly being detained by the 33-year-old resident in Cleary Street, Newcastle, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He was initially taken to hospital in a critical condition but his life support was switched off on Sunday.

The 33-year-old man was first charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm on Saturday, but the charge was later upgraded to murder.
He was denied bail on Sunday and is expected to face Newcastle Bail Court on Monday.
