MUA, Hutchinson to hold private meetings
AAP
The Maritime Union of Australia and Hutchison Ports Australia will enter negotiations overseen by the Fair Work Commission instead of taking their fight over the late-night sacking of almost 100 workers to the Federal Court.
The MUA earlier in August won an injunction against the company's firing of 97 people by text and email and their matter was scheduled to return to court this week, the union said in a statement.
But Fair Work Commission Deputy President Anna Booth will now oversee private meetings between the MUA and HPA on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
