Motorcyclist caught doing 214km/h

A Sydney motorcyclist has been caught speeding at more than 200km/h in an 80km/h zone.

The 32-year-old man was stopped by police during speed checks on Captain Cook Bridge at Taren Point, in Sydney's south, on Thursday afternoon.

Police clocked the man travelling at 214km/h and, after pulling him over, discovered his licence was suspended.

The man, from southern beachside Monterey, had his licence seized and suspended for the next six months. His number plates were confiscated for three months.

He was charged with several offences and is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on February 5.
